The Bong Mine is an iron mine in Liberia Africa.
Workers at the Bong mine were able to send their children to school and many did, bettering themselves and then moving to other parts of the world later on when a civil war erupted in the mid 80s.
A number of people in the US got together 10 years ago and formed an alumni association to raise funds to rebuild the school which was demolished in the war. This event was a fund raiser to continue the rebuilding effort.
Did you know - In Liberia there are 150 doctors to 4.5 million people - if you are a medical person looking for a challenging position or simply want to help in some way there are numerous opportunities to do so.
The wardrobe and head wraps shown were pretty outstanding as I am sure you will agree. Enjoy the images!
I am interested in shooting some more of this type of fashion - perhaps you can help me find opportunities?
